Meet Lily
If you've ever met Lily, you'll quickly realize the world moves a little too slowly for her.
She sees things differently. She learns differently. She doesn't fit neatly into a box, and honestly, that's one of the things I admire most about her.
Lily is one of the smartest and most capable people I know. She has an incredible ability to understand new ideas, master new skills, and solve problems that leave the rest of us scratching our heads. While most people need lessons, practice, or repetition, Lily often seems to absorb knowledge simply by existing around it.
But what makes Lily truly special isn't just her intelligence—it's her heart.
She has always had a deep love and respect for animals and nature. She rescues injured wildlife whenever she can, cares deeply about the creatures around her, and understands something many adults never fully grasp: that nature is both beautiful and practical. She respects the circle of life, hunts ethically, fishes with remarkable skill, and values every living thing she encounters.
At home, she's also the biggest cheerleader her little sister could ever ask for. She never misses an opportunity to support Isabelle, whether she's practicing, performing, or dancing on stage. Watching their bond grow has been one of my greatest joys as a mother.
For a long time, I worried that Lily would feel overshadowed by her sister's competitive dance world. I felt guilty that she wasn't involved in traditional extracurricular activities. I searched for something that would be uniquely hers—something where she could shine in her own way.
What I eventually realized was that Lily was never meant to follow someone else's path.
She's a creator. An inventor. An experimenter.
That's how Lily's role in Bode Bars began.
What started as making soap together became something much bigger. It gave us a space where we could learn side by side, test ideas, create new products, laugh at failed batches, celebrate successful ones, and spend time together doing something we both genuinely enjoy.
Soap making gave us a place to connect, but more importantly, it gave Lily a place to be exactly who she is.
Every product she creates reflects her imagination, curiosity, love of nature, and willingness to try something new. Whether she's designing fun soaps for kids, dreaming up new scents, or helping at markets, Lily brings her own unique magic to everything she touches.
Bode Bars may be a mother-and-daughters business, but Lily is a huge part of its heart.
And if there's one thing she's taught me, it's that not fitting the mold isn't a weakness.
